Will I have to go without meals at any time? |

No. Any foods you are advised to avoid should always be replaced with those that are allowed. Use a wide variety of allowed foods when planning your meals to help ensure that other tolerances don’t develop. |

If I react badly to milk, where will I get calcium from? |

Don’t worry – green vegetables such as cabbage, spinach, lettuce and broccoli are all packed with calcium. It can also be found in fish where the bones are eaten, as well as nuts, seeds, legumes such as peas and beans, and whole grains. |

Can I drink wine and beer? |

The test will assess you against the main ingredients of alcoholic drinks, such as grapes, yeast and grains. It’s best to choose an alcoholic drink that doesn’t contain any ingredient you have shown a reaction to. |

How long should I wait before taking another test? |
| |
That’s down to your own judgement. It depends how well your new diet is progressing and how quickly your intolerances change. Experience shows that changing your diet can lead to other intolerances developing, so it is sensible to think about another test after nine to 12 months. |
